Falls are the leading cause of injury in older adults and may lead to loss of independence, activity limitation, and premature death.
Current clinical guidelines unanimously recommend therapeutic exercise to address deficits in strength, balance, and gait for all adults aged over 65 who are at risk of falling.
Specifically, the greatest number of clinical studies in older adults have been conducted on therapeutic exercise, demonstrating its effectiveness in reducing the frequency of falls. |
